A Trip to Hefei

China, Chinese Cities & Tourism, Chinese Culture

The first week of May in China is a Labor Day holiday, usually 3 days. If it were you, how would you spend your holiday? Now there is a good choice here. Come and see Hefei with me.

Maybe you don’t know what kind of city Hefei is, so let me introduce it to you. Hefei is the largest city in Anhui. Anhui is home to one of the great cuisines of China, and the world famous Huizhou architecture style.

Hefei has many famous attractions. It is a city that combines tradition and technology. The transportation is very convenient. You can choose cars, buses, high-speed rails, and subways to go where you want to go. There are various shared electric vehicles on the roadside, which provide great convenience for people’s travel.

I chose some interesting places for this trip, let us take a look.

Half Street, Hefei

On the first day, we went to Half Street. Half Street is a commercial street with characteristic antique culture. Do you want to know why it is called “Half Street”? Half the street is a pedestrian street of several hundred meters. There are various gift shops, restaurants and some grocery stores on the street, as well as some vendors selling special items. Its architectural style is mainly Huizhou architecture. At the end of the street, it is an entrance to Hefei Forest. The left side of the half street is the characteristic cultural building, and the right side is the shop. You can eat food in the restaurant, enjoy the cultural scenery on the other side, and feel the bright lights on the other side is quiet and beautiful.

Are you interested in Hui-style architecture? Then we must not miss a good place-Huiyuan.

Huiyan (Hui Garden) Hui-style architecture

The Hui Garden was built at the end of the last century. There are traditional Hui-style buildings there, which is a “window” for outsiders to Hefei to quickly understand Anhui. Huiyuan is a filming base of China Central Television. The park has the characteristics of each city in Anhui, showing the history and culture of each city to tourists. If you like quietness, history and nature, then Huiyuan is the best choice.

Relief of “Dayu Spirit”: Huiyuan, Hefei

The content on the relief is the process of Dayu’s water management. Dayu’s water management is an ancient Chinese myth and legend. Dayu led the people to fight against the natural disasters of floods and dredge the floods, and finally won. At that time they were in the Yellow River Basin, and Anhui was one of the provinces. The spirit of Dayu is mainly hard work, a strong will to explore, and a dedication to the people.
