We started this website to provide Jing with the opportunity to earn enough money to pursue her education as a chef.
We are happy to announce that Jing has taken her first step toward pursuing that dream today. She has started cooking classes at New Oriental in Hefei, Anhui.
This is a non-traditional career path for women in China. The course is physically demanding, handling a large, commercial-sized wok. Top restaurants in China prefer male chefs.
If you have tried any of Jing’s recipes here at My Chinese Home Kitchen, you know as we do, that Jing has a real talent for cooking and developing recipes. We look forward to many more wonderful recipes to come.
Jing will continue in her role here at My Chinese Home Kitchen, on a part-time basis. So please check back for more recipes and news.
