Hey everyone! You may have noticed Jing has not been very active here the last few weeks. Do not worry, she is still with us!
When China suddenly reversed their three-year zero-COVID policy, New Oriental closed earlier than usual for the Spring Festival. However, because of the early closure, students were expected to work on cooking projects at home and share their results online via PowerPoint.
This kept Jing pretty busy, then she became sick with COVID. She was bed-ridden for a few days with a 103 F fever. Jing has recovered in time to join her sister, niece, and nephew in Guangxi for the Spring Festival. She really needs the rest.
The last couple months in school have been very demanding, with the food sculpture courses, and at the same time she was studying for a college entrance exam. She excelled on the exam, and she will be taking college courses for credit in addition to her culinary classes at New Oriental in 2023.
Lunar New Year is on January 22. New Oriental will resume classes shortly after that, and Jing will be back with new stories and recipes.
