- Start with a very sharp kitchen knife.
- Trim the ends off the garlic cloves.
- Lay the flat side of the knife across the clove.
- Press down firmly with the palm of your hand to crush the garlic clove.
- The skin peels right off.




Best way to mince garlic
A kitchen knife, whether Western or Chinese, has a curved blade. This curved blade design is for chopping and mincing vegetables.

- Slice the crushed garlic lengthwise into thin strips.
- Next, cut across the strips by placing the tip of knife above the pile of strips and rocking the knife along the curve of the blade to chop the strips.
- Swivel the knife slowly while rocking the blade up and down.
- Then, push the garlic back into a pile.
- Repeat the chopping until the pieces are all minced.
