Have you ever used an air fryer? Air fryers use hot air for frying instead of hot oil. At the same time, the hot air blows away the moisture on the surface of the food, so that the ingredients can achieve the effect of frying. Its working principle is “high-speed air circulation,” which generates hot air through the heat pipe inside the high-temperature heating machine, circulates the hot air in the enclosed space, and uses the fat of the ingredients to fry the food. This makes the surface of the food golden and crispy. So we like to call it an “easy oven that doesn’t require oil.” Its small size makes it perfect for an apartment kitchen or for making some snacks in a home kitchen.

The air fryer can make a very wide variety of ingredients such as fish, chicken, pork, beef, egg tarts. Most of the ingredients that can be cooked in an oven or deep fried can be cooked in an air fryer. Using the air fryer doesn’t require much oil. Chinese-style air-fryer chicken wings are very easy to make: simply marinate the wings and put them in the air fryer for cooking. With an air fryer, you can make some delicious chicken wings or other treats for your friends when they visit, with minimal mess and minimal cleanup.

Notes

  • If you want to make the skin of the chicken wings more crispy, coat the skin of the wings with honey before cooking for the final 10 minutes.
  • Most air fryers shut off if you open it while cooking. When you put the container of the air fryer back in place, it will turn on and resume cooking again. If your air fryer does not have an automatic power-off function, then you can set the working time for 10 minutes first, and when the 10-minutes have elapsed, turn the chicken wings and set the timer for an additional ten minutes. All in all, the air fryer runs for 20 minutes.
